Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Serves: 2-4
Ingredients:
1 onion, sliced
1 apple, cored and chopped
1 bottle of bock style beer
1 lb. bratwurst
2 cups beef broth
4 T. butter
3 cups sauerkraut, drained
Salt and pepper
What to do:
In a large skillet over medium high heat add your beer and bratwurst; cook, turning occasionally until almost cooked through, about 10 minutes.
Remove sausages and add the rest of the ingredients except the butter to the pan, bring to a full boil scraping the bottom until mixture is reduced and starts to caramelize. The more caramelize, you will cook longer, the less caramelize you will cook less.
Add sausages back to the pan and simmer until fully cooked, about 5-10 minutes more, add in your butter and mix well.
Season with salt and pepper to taste-depending on the flavors of your sauerkraut and sausages you may not need extra seasoning.
