Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Serves: 8
Ingredients:
Refrigerated biscuits (any brand)
Canola oil or vegetable oil
Powdered sugar, cinnamon & sugar, glaze or chocolate frosting (optional)
Glaze:
1/3 C. butter
1/4 C. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 C. confectioners’ sugar, sifted
dash of salt
What to do:
Use a spoon or bisques cutter to cut out a hole in middle of biscuit dough. This will be a doughnut hole. Pour a few inches of oil into a pot and heat. Drop biscuit rings and/or holes into hot oil. They should not touch each other. Cook for roughly a minute until the bottom side of your dough is golden brown. Flip over and cook another 30-60 seconds. Lay on paper towels to catch extra oil. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, cinnamon & sugar, glaze or frosting depending on your preference.
For the glaze:
In a small bowl add milk and butter, microwave about 1 minute until butter is melted. Whisk in vanilla, sugar and salt, dip donuts in glaze. Set on a plate or cooling rack.
