Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 5-6 minutes
Serves: 2
Ingredients:
1 C. old fashioned rolled oats, not quick or instant, they will turn to mushy, groooooss!
2 C. milk or 1/2 C. milk and 1/2 C. yogurt
3 tsp. honey (more if you like it sweeter)
1 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 C. applesauce
What to do:
Microwave directions:
In a microwave-safe bowl combine the oats, milk, honey, cinnamon and applesauce. Microwave on high for 5 minutes or until thickened. Stir before serving and garnish with chunks of apples.
Stove top directions:
Bring milk to a boil. Stir in oats, honey, cinnamon and applesauce. Cook for about 5 minutes over medium heat or until thickened. Stir occasionally. Garnish with chunks of apples.
Overnight directions:
Combine the ingredients in one large or two separate bowls. Stir until combined. Cover and place in the refrigerator overnight. These can be warmed up or eaten cold. I have also used mason jars when I know I would be in a hurry that morning, that way I could put them in the microwave, warm them up and off I go.
