Prep Time: 5-10 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Serves: 4 and can be doubled easily
Ingredients:
4 oz. cream cheese, room temperature
4 T. butter
1, 1/2 tsp. garlic powder, more or less depending on how you like it.
3/4 C. milk or cream
2/3 C. Parmesan cheese
Dash of salt and pepper
What to do:
Place all your ingredients in a small saucepan. Then put the saucepan on the stove over medium heat, whisking as the cream cheese and butter melt. Once it begins to boil whisk constantly so it doesn’t burn and turn down the heat after about 2-3 min to med/low heat. Let it cook for about 5-7 min more while whisking, until it is a little thicker but not quite the thickness you want your sauce to be. It will thicken as it cools down. If it is too thick on the stove it will be very thick and chunky off the stove, if this happens add more milk or cream.
Christina’s Notes:
If you don’t have fettuccine noodles at home you can use whatever pasta you have on hand, I often used spaghetti noodles and it turns out just fine. Make a complete meal by adding vegetables and meat like shrimp, chicken…etc. and red pepper flakes a bit of heat.
