Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 45 minutes
Serves: 5 qts. (20 cups)
Ingredients:
1 C. butter
2 C. brown sugar
1/2 C. corn syrup
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1, 1/2 C. mixed nuts or whatever strikes your fancy! It’s also optional
6 qt. popped popcorn (24 cups)
What to do:
Preheat oven to 250 degrees.
Treat two large cookie sheets with cooking spray.
Melt butter in a medium size saucepan; stir in brown sugar, corn syrup and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Then boil for 5 minutes without stirring, remove from heat then mix in soda, vanilla and nuts if using. Pour over popcorn and mix well, transfer to the cookie sheets and bake for 45 minutes or until dry. Stir popcorn every 15 minutes. Remove from oven and cool. Break apart and enjoy!!
