Forget the puppy chow you knew when you were a kid. This recipe takes Puppy Chow to a whole new level. As if it couldn’t get any better! WOAH! Make this for teachers, friends, kids, (yourself)…. yum! Couldn’t get any easier then measuring and dumping in a bowl, a must try for Halloween!
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Serves: 11 cups
Ingredients:
9 C. Chex Cereal
1/2 C. white chocolate chips
1/2 C. milk chocolate chips
1/2 C. peanut butter divided
1/2 C. butter or margarine divided
1 tsp. vanilla divided
1, 1/2 C. powdered sugar divided
2 C. of your favorite candy, make sure to use a variety
What to do:
Divide your powdered sugar (3/4 C.) into two large Ziploc bags. Set aside.
Split cereal in half and put 4.5 cups in one bowl and 4.5 cups in another bowl. Set aside.
In a microwave safe bowl, heat white chocolate chips, ¼ cup peanut butter, and ¼ cup butter or margarine. Stir every 15 seconds until melted. Remove from microwave and add ½ tsp. vanilla.
Pour over one of the bowls of cereal until evenly coated. Pour into a gallon bag with powdered sugar. Seal bag and shake until well coated.
Repeat Steps 2 & 3 for the chocolate Chex.
Allow to cool then pour white chocolate and milk chocolate Chex into one bowl. Add candy and mix well. Puppy chow is good up to 1 week at room temperature, but trust me – it won’t last that long
