Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Serves: 4-6
Ingredients:
Cooking spray
1/2 loaf of any flavor bread you desire (French, white, whole grain, just to name a few) or ½ pound shredded hash browns
1 lb. of bulk pork sausage cooked and crumbled or 1 pound sausage links cut into ½ inch chunks
1/2 to 1 C. or so of sharp cheddar, grated
2 cups milk
Salt and pepper to taste
6 large eggs
What to do:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cut bread into about 1 inch cubes and spread in a greased 9 x 13 inch casserole dish.
In a medium sized bowl whisk together the milk, eggs salt and pepper to taste. Pour mixture into the casserole dish making sure to mix the bread or potatoes so every inch gets soaked up with the egg mixture. Set aside to soak and do its magic.
In the meantime, in a medium skillet, brown the sausage over medium heat until fully cooked and no longer pink. Remove with a slotted spoon to drain the excess fat and spread over the bread and top with cheese.
Cook for 30 minutes or until done and the cheese is golden brown.
