Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 15 – 20 minutes
Ingredients:
2 bunches of red kale or regular kale
2 T. of olive oil
½ tsp. of sea salt (add more or less depending on your preference)
What to do:
Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
Tear the leaves from the stem/stalk to big or bite size pieces, as it will shrink while it’s baking.
Rinse the kale making sure there are no traces of mud or soil. Dry them well there should not be any moisture left on them.
Combine the kale leaves, oil and salt in a large bowl. Then use your hands to toss and massage the kale until they are well coated. Spread the kale on the baking tray.
Bake for 20 to 30 minutes; make sure to flip once every 10 minutes. The time will depend on how thick your kale is; let it bake until it is crispy.
Christina’s Notes:
You can make chips with any type of Kale. The baking time depends on how thick the leaves are. Play with your imagination by adding different flavors each time like onion powder, garlic powder and cayenne to name a few. You can also follow the same procedure with chard and spinach.
