Homemade Horseradish Sauce
Ingredients:
1/2 C. mayonnaise
1/2 C. sour cream
1/3 C. prepared horseradish
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. honey
2 tsp. Dijon mustard
Salt and freshly cracked black pepper
What do to:
In a small mixing bowl, whisk together all ingredients until well incorporated. Make sure to taste this, as horseradish can be quite spicy. If it’s too spicy, add a little more sour cream and mayonnaise. If it’s not spicy enough for your liking, by all means, add more horseradish. Store in the refrigerator until chilled through.
Seared Venison Tips
Ingredients:
2 C. flour
1 T. salt
2 T. pepper
2 lbs. of venison stew meat
1 stick of butter, divided in half
1/2 C. oil, divided in half
What to do
In a gallon size, plastic bag dump your flour, salt and pepper. Now add your venison and shake …. Shake…… shake…… set aside.
In a medium size sauce pan on medium high heat add your butter and oil. Once butter and oil are hot add in one pound of venison. Sear on all sides making sure not to overcook. Venison becomes very dry if overcooked, it should be medium at the most. Once seared move to a plate and cook the other pound of venison. Place in a pretty bowl served with tooth picks and your homemade horseradish sauce.
