This Chicken Lazone recipe is fast, flavourful and easy to make. With Cajun roots made with seasoned chicken, pan-fried in butter until golden brown, finished with an easy cream sauce. All in under 30 minutes!
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 15 to 20 minutes
Serves: 4
Ingredients:
2 lbs. Chicken tenders or breast cut in half
1 tsp. Salt
Pepper to taste
1 1/2 tsp. Onion powder
1 1/2 tsp. Chili powder
2 tsp. Garlic powder
1 tsp. Paprika
1/2 tsp. Cayenne pepper (optional)
4 T. Butter, divided
2 C. Heavy whipping cream
1 T. Parsley
What to do:
Combine all your spices in a small bowl, mix well. Season both sides of your chicken with the spice mixture. Add half of the butter to a skillet over medium-high heat. Once the pan is hot and butter is melted, cook the chicken for 4-5 minutes/side until it’s nice and golden. Take the chicken out of the pan and set it aside.
Add remaining butter, once melted and add in heavy cream and parsley. Bring skillet down to a simmer. Once simmering, continue to cook for approximately 10-15 minutes or until thick and creamy. Add in your chicken to warm through.
Serve over mashed potatoes, noodles, zoodles, rice ….just to name a few! Enjoy!
Christina’s notes:
If you want to thicken your sauce up, use equal parts of 1 T. water and 1 T. cornstarch or flour. In a small bowl mix the two then add it when you add your cream to the pan.
