Prep Time: 2 minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes or so
Serves: About 3 cups
Ingredients:
2 sticks of butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup honey or maple syrup
Additional brown sugar for sprinkling
(This recipe easily doubles if you’re using a larger ham or if you want extra sauce for the table)
What to do:
Place the first three ingredients in a saucepan and heat on medium until sugar granules have dissolved and it is a smooth caramel color. You can also use a medium size microwave bowl and heat in the microwave until sugar is dissolved and it is smooth.
Then, using a pastry brush, cover the entire surface of the ham with the glaze. Place in oven, following the directions on your ham packaging, baste ham every 15 to 30 minutes with the glaze saving a little for the end; once done, glaze with the last of the yummy glaze and sprinkle with brown sugar on top. Place under broiler for 3-4 minutes to caramelize the sugar…YUM!!! Be careful the sugar can burn easily. Remove from oven and let your meat rest for 5-10 minutes, then devour!
