Another great baked bean recipe given by our very own Krista Wilber (Moser), we graduated together back in…….well, and then reconnect on Facebook. Thank you for the great recipe it was easy, simple and delicious. These baked beans are semi-homemade and are the perfect blend of sweet, savory and smoky mixed in with delicious bacon.
Baked Beans (Wilber Style)
Prep Time: under 5 minutes
Cooke Time: 45 minutes
Serves: 6-8
Ingredients:
2 (28 oz.) cans Bush’s baked beans or whichever bean your family enjoys
1/3 C. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. mustard
1 T. honey
1/2 medium onion, chopped
3 oz. or 1/2 C. real bacon bits, more if you wish, don’t forget extra for garnish
What to do:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
In a 9 x 13 casserole dish mix all your ingredients together. Bake for about 45 minutes or until your beans are bubbly, gold brown and are smelling oh so good. The last 10 minutes add your extra bacon on top and bake until crisp or to make this process faster put it under the broil for a few minutes but watch it, bacon can burn fast.
