Every year I do a Natures Christmas tree on my back deck. I keep it up past Christmas into February for something festive. (I unplug the lights after Christmas) Making a cranberry garland is pretty simple and inexpensive. A cranberry garland is a beautiful and festive way to dress up a home during the holiday season and beyond, not to mention that gorgeous punch of color!
You will need the following:
fresh cranberries
embroidery floss, wax floss or other heavy thread
needle
What to do:
Place the cranberries into a large bowl to make it easier to access them as you string and take the squishy ones out.
I like to cut the string into 3-foot lengths. This makes it easier to manage, not only for me but also for any young ones that might be helping. You can connect them later for a longer garland. Thread the needle with the string then thread one cranberry down to the end and knot the thread around it to make an anchor. I’m pretty sure you know what happens next…..yup one by one thread your cranberries. When finished tie your last cranberry like your first. But, if you plan on connecting them to make a longer garland make sure to leave enough string to connect the two. Now it’s ready to enjoy inside or outside!
