I do a Natures Christmas tree on my back deck every year. I keep it up past Christmas into February for something festive. (I unplug the lights after Christmas). It’s a tradition to add an ornament or garland to adorn the three. So this year I added the cereal garland. Use that extra stale cereal taking up space in your pantry. String it up as a treat for the birds and squirrels.
You will need the following:
cereal
embroidery floss, wax floss or other heavy thread
needle
What to do:
Place the cereal into a large bowl to make it easier to access them as you string.
I like to cut the string into 5-foot lengths. This makes it easier to manage, not only for me but also for any young ones that might be helping. You can connect them later for a longer garland. Thread the needle with the string then thread one piece of cereal down to the end and knot the thread around it to make an anchor. I’m pretty sure you know what happens next…..yup one by one thread your cereal. When finished tie your last cereal piece like your first. But, if you plan on connecting them to make a longer garland make sure to leave enough string to connect the two. Now it’s ready to enjoy inside or outside!

I know this sounds strange but we had a box of stale fruit loops in the cup so we used those. It turned out so pretty.
