These Belgian Waffles are crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside. Perfect for a cool weekend morning. Top them with your favorite topping for a true breakfast treat.
Ingredients:
1/4 C. all purpose flour
1 T. baking powder
3 T. suger
1/2 Tsp. salt
1 Tsp. cinnamon
2 eggs, separated
1/2 C. advacodo oil
2 C. whole milk
1 Tsp. vanilla extract
What to do:
Preheat your waffle iron, spray with non stick cooking spray and set aside.
In a large bowl combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and cinnamon.
In a medium bowl beat the egg whites with a hand mixer or stand mixer until stiff peaks form. Make sure there are stiff peaks, this is important.
Now its time to add everything together. Add bowl 3, the egg yolk mixture to the dry ingredients, bowl 1, and mix well.
Fold in the egg whites, bowl 2, make sure you fold and not mix. It is important that you fold and not mix because the folding will make your batter lighter, which is what you want to achieve in a belgium waffle.
Pour the batter onto your hot waffle iron and cook according to manufacturer’s directions!
Enjoy with butter, maple syrup, whipping cream, powder sugar, fresh fruit or whatever your little heart desires!
