Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 45-50
Serves: about 10
Ingredients:
3/4 C. white sugar or you can use a combination of brown sugar and white sugar
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
¼ to ½ teaspoon salt, or to taste
1 large egg white
1 T. water
1 tsp. Vallina extract or try using Maple extract, Rum extract etc.
1 pound pecan halves or whole pecans, almonds and walnuts work also.
What to do:
Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, or a silicone mat.
Mix the sugar, cinnamon, and salt together in a tiny bowl, set aside. Easy peasy!
Use a hand mixer to beat egg white, water and vanilla extract until a stiff peak forms. Toss those pecans in the eggy goodness, making sure they get a nice coat all over. Then, slowly pour in the sugar mixture and give it a good stir, making sure every single pecan gets all sweet and coated. Finally, spread ’em out nice and even on a baking sheet, ready to be transformed into pure deliciousness.
Bake the pecans, stirring and checking every 15 minutes, until the nuts are evenly browned and crisp, about 45 minutes.
Cool before storing.
