The best thing to pair with any meal! Crispy and charred on the outside, deliciously caramelized and meaty on the inside, and good to go in minutes. Pan-frying on the stovetop has become my top choice for cooking Brussels.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 10 – 15 minutes
Serves: 4-6
Ingredients:
1 lb. Fresh or frozen brussel sprouts cut in half
2 tablespoons avocado oil
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 C. Walnuts or pine nuts, almonds, pecans or any combination
1/2 C. Dried cranberries or raisins
2 T. Dijon mustard
1/4 C. Honey or maple syrup
What to do:
In a small bowl combine mustard and honey, set aside.
Heat up some oil in a big, heavy-bottomed skillet (a cast iron pan works great), then toss in your Brussels sprouts. Salt and pepper to taste. Let them cook, only stirring occasionally so most sides get all caramelized. You decide how caramelized you want them to be.
Remove the pan from the heat, and mix in the nuts and fruit until they’re nicely combined. Then, pour in the sauce (the honey and mustard mix) and mix it up! Serve it up hot and enjoy!
