A favorite spice in Indian kitchens, whipping up your own yellow curry powder is super easy and way more delicious than anything you’ll find ready-made!
Ingredients:
2 tsp. of coriander
2 tsp. ground turmeric
1 tsp. cumin
1 tsp. ground fenugreek seed, Substitution: an equivalent amount of ground mustard
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 tsp. ground mustard
1/2 tsp. ground fennel seed or anise seed
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cardamom, Substitutions: equal parts cinnamon and ginger or equal parts cinnamon and ground cloves.
1/4 tsp. white pepper
1/4 tsp. nutmeg or mace
1/4 tsp. ground clove
1/8– 1/4 tsp. cayenne (or leave it out for mild)
A pinch of salt
What to do:
Transfer the ground spices into a jar and seal the lid securely. Thoroughly shake the jar to ensure the spices are well combined. Store the mixture in a tightly sealed jar to maintain freshness.
